The Taj is India's most famous structure and was built to be a monument by Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife of three years, Mumtaz Mahal who passed away at the time of childbirth. It's not a church or mausoleum, but rather a palace. The Taj required years of work and the aid of 20,000 construction workers to build. Unfortunately, after its completion and its completion, the Shah was removed by his son who sentenced him to living out the rest of his existence in prison, while staring at his beloved creation out of his window in Agra. After his death the Shah was laid to rest with Mumtaz at the Taj. In the present, millions of tourists go to the Taj every year.
