What is a pump seal? What is the use?
The general pump seal refers to a device installed and operated in the pump equipment to play a dynamic sealing role to prevent the fluid medium in the pump volute from flowing out of the pump through the pump shaft.

As most pumps are used to transport fluid medium, they have the characteristics of the horizontal installation, high speed, high pressure, solid particles, and strong corrosion. Therefore, the main material of the seal for the pump often needs to resist the erosion and impact of solid particles and the sealing surface caused by high speed. Due to the influence of unfavorable factors such as high-temperature abrasion, unstable sealing parameters caused by high pressure, and corrosion of base structural parts, higher requirements for mechanical seal materials are required.

Usually, the optional materials of the sealing surface friction pair are nickel-based cemented carbide, cobalt-based cemented carbide, pressureless sintered silicon carbide, reactive sintered silicon carbide, metal-impregnated graphite, PTFE-filled graphite, PTFE-filled glass fiber, aluminum oxide special ceramics, etc.;
