Ebola, earlier known as Ebola hemorrhagic fever (EHF), is a deadly disease caused by Ebola virus infection that primarily affects humans and non-human primates. Ebola virus disease has posed a diagnostic challenge and has remained a common public health threat since its discovery. Ebola virus is primarily spread through close physical contact with infected people or their bodily fluids, contaminated tissue surfaces, and the clothing of alive, infected, or dead people.
